Be Pandora

A few days ago, I had the opportunity to buy a very interesting voucher on a French private sale to use on a reseller website of Pandora. The voucher which costed 40€, allowed you to spent in fact 80€. So quick maths, 2 vouchers of each 40€ allowed me to spent in total 160€.

Without even thinking, I took my chance and bought two vouchers to maximise my Pandora budget of the month. One of the items I bought, is the drink to go charm, retailed at 39€ and with reference number: 797185EN160.

Upfront, I want to show you where it is placed on my bracelet. This is the main bracelet I wear everyday and have been wearing for around 1 week. I felt like its place was already decided when I bought it.

Detailed pictures of the charm

The drink to go charm is, in width, smaller then the other charms, but still carries a lot of detailed work.

If you would like to know more about specifications, I urge you to keep on reading. At the end of this article, a new section called "specifications" will be added. In that section, I write about the measurements of a charm, it's width and it's length. With that information, it will be easier for you, reader, to have a sense of measurements regarding a charm to put it on your bracelet.

The front of the drink to go charm features a heart filled with pink enamel. In the heart itself, figures the Pandora logo crown outlined in silver. The heart itself is meant to be a sleeve that goes all around the coffee. Like the sleeves you would get at Starbucks in carton for hot drinks.

The whole heart, outlined in silver, lays on top of the smooth silver surface of the charm. Like a top enamel coat. It gives a depth to the charm to allow us to distinguish the cup and the sleeve.

Underneath the pink enamel heart, we can find the Pandora writing in capital letters with as usual the crown on the O.

In terms of versatility, the charm already sets the tone with its pink enamel featured in the middle of the charm. The colour doesn't allow everyone to have it on their bracelet as there is a colour restriction. It would go well on pink, purple or white bracelets, but when mixed with green I am not so sure of the rendering.

On the back of the charm, features the same heart outlined in silver and filled with pink enamel. The pink enamel is the same colour as the front heart. A soft pink, not too bright and almost close to white. Underneath the pink enamel heart we can see "Take a break" written. The writing is in cursive lettering and gives it a sweet and feminine touch.

For all the coffee lovers, "Take a break" means a lot to us. Most of the time, we enjoy our coffee on a break, alone or with friends. It is also a good reminder that a good coffee can be shared with a good friend. Taking it a step further, this charm would be perfect to share with one of your close coffee friend, best friend or just friend.

On the Pandora website, the description of the drink to go charm takes a new dimension. It is described as a charm to pay tribute to your daily rituals. I could not agree more with this.

The top of the charm features a lid for the coffee cup.  The charm has clearly been made to distinguish, the cup sleeve and the cup lid. This adds even more detail to the charm and enhances its beauty.

The hole where you drink your coffee out, is in the shape of a heart. This detail makes the charm outstanding and very unique. The detailing is pretty well made and makes us love the charm on it's own.

The heart shape is a huge component of this small but still very detailed charm. It is present on the front and back of the cup sleeve and present on the cup lid as well. For people loving hearts, this charm will find its place on your bracelet.

On the side of the charm, features all the inscription Pandora would have on a silver charm. We can find as usual S925, which stands for Silver and 92,5% of the charm is constituted of silver and the rest of other metals.

The inscription ALE is as well present, meaning Algot Enevoldsen, Pandora's founder.

Remember that these two marks aren't present on all of Pandora's jewellery. It doesn't mean your jewellery is fake, but means that there wasn't enough space on the charm to make it visible.

Also, these two mentions on a charm doesn't mean your charm is genuine. Some fake pieces carry these inscriptions as well. Be careful!

Specifications of the charm

As mentioned above, this section is a new section called "specification of the charm". In this section, you can find all information relative to the size of the charm in its width and length. All measurements are taken in CM's. Tell me in the comments or on my Instagram - which I will mention at the end - if this section is/was helpful to you. If yes, do you want me to continue this section?

When measuring the full length of the charm in height, we can see that it is 1,1 cm high. It is indeed, taller than most charms but nothing to be bothered about. The cup is just a bit higher to really let us feel like this is a coffee cup with a real scale. Anything a bit smaller wouldn't have shown the reality of the cup.

The coffee cup is in a cone, smaller at the bottom and wider at the top. The rough measurements of the coffee cup standing on the ground at its smallest, is around 0,5-0,6 cm wide.

This is the measurement you would need to know the size it would take on your bracelet. It is a smaller charm that will allow you to put it wherever you still have a small spot left and that's what makes it special.

Putting the coffee cup on its head, we can see that it is a bit wider. Again, it is because of the cone shape, smaller at the bottom, wider at the top. Remember also, that in order to show the difference between the cup lid and the actual cup there needs to be a difference in size. Without that, we wouldn't be able to differentiate the two, and the charm will lose its meaning.

The rough measurements of the charm like that, is 0,7-0,8 cm wide.

As you can see from the measurements, it is a higher charm, to still have a correct scale, but it is smaller than usual. Its width will allow you to put it wherever you have a small spot left. Too small for regular round charms for example. It is also perfect next to a center piece in the middle of your two clips. For me, I always have trouble finding the perfect charms to match my centrepiece as the space left never concords with the charms I have.

Positive and negative points of the charm

Positive

- Very small in width, it can allow anyone to give it a small spot on their bracelet
- All the details are very realistic and well made
- For all coffee lovers out there it is a perfect charm
- Can work as a friend/best friend charm
- Full of meaning

Negative

- Not everyone like heart shapes
- The pink enamel doesn't allow the charm to go on every bracelet
- The odd shape can turn off some people

Right, I hope this article helped you into choosing if it is or not the right charm for you to get.
In the meantime, you can always follow me on my Instagram where I put daily pictures of Pandora.

The silver sliding bracelet - 597125CZ - available at its original price of 59€ was an item that everyone was excited for. Pandora hadn't come with an innovative concept for a very long time when it comes to bracelets.

First of all, I couldn't find the sliding bracelet in Belgium at all. Despite calling a lot of shops, none would have it in stock as the stock had not been delivered at all. Part of the collection was missing.

Because I was travelling to Germany at that time period, I decided to buy it immediately from Germany instead, would they have it.. Surprise, they had it in store. I was delighted.

The bracelet is a plain silver bracelet. Half of the bracelet is a snake chain where you can put your charms, and the other half is the sliding part of the bracelet. You can adapt the size of the bracelet thanks to the sliding part. For that you will need to take the signature Pandora ball between your thumb and index finger and slide it up and down to adjust it.

Pandora signature ball to help you slide up and down
The lovely sliding bracelet features two lovely zirconium at each end of the "pending" part of the bracelet. This is a feminine touch I really liked on the bracelet, giving it that extra touch of shiny with zirconium. Happiness is found in little details, isn't it?

The bracelet is constituted of two distinct part. The main part is the snake part where you can put all your charms. Sadly, one of the negative points for me was the fact that there was no dedicated space for the clips. The second part is made out of the sliding part where you can adjust accordingly to your wrist size.

The system of the sliding bracelet is very simple, the Pandora signature ball features a piece of silicone inside it, which helps you slide up and down and helps it stay in place thanks to the silicone.

For that part, I can't say it's not secure at all. The silicone inside was very secure for me and it never completely slid open. It better has to be secure, because no security chain can be added to the bracelet.

As for the opening and closing of the bracelet, it is a bit tricky to get it open and closed in the beginning. The opening features a small notch where you can put your fingernail, press it and open the bracelet like that. Inside the mechanism is a very small and delicate spring. I suppose this is the entire mechanism of the opening/closing system.

The notch to open up the bracelet
When it comes to styling the bracelet, it's very easy to style. Why I absolutely liked it? You can work in a very symmetric way from each end and that is absolutely great.
Put your centre piece first and accordingly from the left and then the right add your symmetric charms.

For the total of charms that can go on the bracelet, it is pretty obvious that only a fraction of charms can go on it. 15 charms were put on my bracelet, and it felt heavy. Here is where it completely went wrong. Upon adding more and more charms and having a full bracelet, I noticed that sometimes my bracelet would loosen itself at the sliding part. It wasn't that obvious, but enough for me to notice and care about.

Remember, the sliding bracelet cannot carry a security chain, so a bracelet opening up, means your charms are gone.

Also, don't forget to follow me on Instagram if you haven't done it yet. I will be happy to share with you my love and passion for Pandora. We are almost 400 followers as well :)

The worst part is yet to come for the sliding bracelet. The design is great and is something innovative, really my love for it started since I saw the pictures online. But then, after wearing it for a few weeks, I would say 2 weeks straight maybe, the struggle started.

It started splitting right in the middle by itself. I don't understand why, but after having posted a story about it on my instagram, the answer rate was strong. A lot of girls had had the same issue with it, splitting right in the middle and finally breaking down...

At that point I was scared, and then I started noticing worse. It starting breaking down right at the very beginning. A lot of girls had sent me similar pictures of that part breaking down like mine.

This is where my love story for the sliding bracelet ended. And this is how I returned it to take a classic bracelet instead...

Would I recommend it ? Not at all, for several reasons mentioned below.

Positive points

+ Very innovative bracelet, something new
+ Price is the same as the classical bracelets
+ Good for smaller compositions
+ Small details such as the zirconium or Pandora on the sliding ball
+ Adapts to pretty much EVERY SIZE !!

Negative points

- The silicone part inside the ball doesn't allow you to shower with the bracelet
- You cannot put a security chain on the bracelet
- If it breaks down, you lose your charms
- Only comes in one size which is size 2
- If you have no nails, the notch can be hard to open
- The sliding part is not secure enough
- Doesn't support weight

In no case is this a biased review. I wanted to show you after a wear of 2 weeks how the bracelet was and how it felt wearing it. Sadly, for me the experience was an aborted mission. I wish it had been a defect product, but after having received several pictures of the same issue as me... I strongly believed that the whole range was defect.
